At St. Mark, our Evangelization Office oversees all Adult Faith formation (small groups bible studies, CRHP, Welcome 2.0), The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), and Confirmation. The purpose of our ministry is for the Salvation of Souls, and we spend our time helping people to grow deeper in their relationship with the God who created them through the Church that he founded. Put more simply we are here to serve you and help you reach the heights of what God has called you to. Please pray for us as we continue this ministry of the Parish and know that we will be praying for you.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church “It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost. From this fact, Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace:
Our Confirmation program is a two-year program where we equip the parents to be able to fulfill their office as teacher of their children. We know that parents have the biggest impact on the lives of their children, and this duty to raise up their children in the faith is not a duty that can be abrogated or delegated, but rather is the ultimate end of marriage. As Pope Pius XI wrote in the 13th paragraph of Casti Connubii “Christian parents must also understand that they are destined not only to propagate and preserve the human race on earth, indeed not only to educate any kind of worshippers of the true God, but children who are to become members of the Church of Christ, to raise up fellow-citizens of the Saints, and members of God’s household, that the worshippers of God and Our Savior may daily increase”. The first command of God in Genesis is to “be fruitful and multiply (Gen 1:28)” not only that the population would increase, but more fundamentally that we would raise more worshippers of the one true God. We want to be able to help parents to live out this mission. If you have any questions about our Confirmation program please email Sandra or Julie at [email protected] and [email protected].
If your child is in 7th through 12th Grade and needs Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation. It’s important that you know that there is a two-year Sacramental Preparation in order for your child to receive this Sacrament. We normally begin registration during Summer Break, you will find the Online Registration Form available here during that time. Here you’ll also find all supplemental Resources to help you in the journey.
If you have any questions, please call our St. Mark Office and request to speak with someone in our Confirmation Ministry for Assistance.
Each Confirmation candidate chooses a Saint venerated by the Catholic Church to be their role model and spiritual companion for their lives. For more detailed information, view the guidelines for picking your Saint.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is a process by which people come to learn more about the teachings of the Church and decide whether they would like to receive the sacraments of initiation, becoming a Catholic, or not. This process typically last for a year, but it can take longer based upon each individual person. These classes teach the fundamental Catholic teachings of the Church. These classes are available in both English and Spanish. For more information contact Ruth Sanchez at [email protected].
RCIA is for people over the age of 7 who need all of the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation), people who were baptized as protestants and want to become Catholic, and for those adult who are baptized Catholics that have not yet received Holy Communion and Confirmation.
We have many different groups that meet weekly in our parish. We have many different Bible study groups, apologetic classes, etc., in both English and Spanish. If you are interested in joining one of these, or are interested in leading a small group please email Kaleb at [email protected] or Ruth at [email protected].
Our CRHP and Welcome retreats are an amazing opportunity to be able to grow in your relationship with God. These retreats were created for people in all stages of their spiritual lives, whether they be practicing Catholics, non-Catholics, or people who are just beginning their search for truth.
During the pandemic we have had to postpone our retreats until further notice. We hope to be able to host these retreats once again soon. In the meantime, the CRHP teams are continuing to meet and pray for all of the people who will be going on the future retreats. For more information about CRHP or Welcome please contact Ruth at [email protected]
